About Montserrat Font
Montserrat Font, a sans-serif font, is another attractive and worthwhile family of Sans Serifs. It was created by Julieta Ulanovsky, a prominent graphic designer who is well-known for her graphic design work. It includes 2 sister families: Subryada and Alternates. Each family has many unique characters.
The Designer updated the Monserrat typeface family in 2017 with new features and characters. This makes it an even better family. It was redesigned in 2017 by Jacques Le Bailly (a typeface designer). The Designer also created a complete set of weights in 2015 with Ale Paul, Carolina Giovagnoli and Andres Torresi. Juan Pablo del Peral, Sol Matas, and Ale Paul were also involved. November 2017 saw another significant update. Jacques Le Bailly has redrawn the family, adjusting weights. Juan Pablo del Peral and Julieta Ulanovsky led the creation of Cyrillic support. They were assisted by Maria Doreuli and Carolina Giovagnoli.
The Cyrillic expansion gave the Montserrat typeface an additional 8,640 characters. Matas stated that the Cyrillic expansion presented a challenge in having a classic design and a natural one. Ulanovsky and her colleagues weren’t Cyrillic-literate, so the expansion was done in collaboration with Maria Doreuli (Russian typeface designer) and Alexei Vanyashin (Russian typeface designer). Vanyashin gave Ulanovsky’s team feedback. She suggested that a character be “closer to its historical representation” as well as avoiding glyphs that could cause confusion. They took that into account. Montserrat Font Free Download is available here!
