About Myself

I’m Ayaan Farabi, a typographer with a deep passion for fonts and the proud founder of Free Fonts Lab. For the last ten years, I’ve been fully involved in typography, studying the details of letter shapes and noticing how important they are in visual communication.

I first started exploring fonts when I was studying Graphic Design at the University of Reading. There, I learned about type design and improved my skills. The blend of creativity and technical precision fascinated me, and I knew that working with fonts was my true calling.

After graduating in 2015, I embarked on a professional career as a graphic designer, gaining valuable experience while working with various companies. During this time, I discovered the challenges that designers face when trying to find the ideal fonts for their projects without breaking their budget.

Driven by a deep belief in the democratization of design, I founded Free Fonts Lab in 2023 to address this need. The core principle behind my venture is to provide accessible and high-quality fonts to designers from all walks of life. I firmly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to use beautiful, well-crafted fonts to enhance their creativity and bring their visions to life.

We curate various fonts at Free Fonts Lab to fit different design needs. Our collection offers diverse styles for designers to choose from. Our mission is to help designers find the ideal font to convey their creativity in various mediums, including web design, branding, and print media.

I take great pride in our commitment to openness and inclusivity. That’s why all the fonts available on Free Fonts Lab are provided for free, enabling designers to access quality resources without any financial constraints. It brings me immense joy to see our fonts being used by designers worldwide, knowing that I’m contributing to their creative journeys.

I am committed to creating unique fonts by exploring new techniques and keeping up with emerging trends in typography. Free Fonts Lab is a community of typography enthusiasts who come together to appreciate the beauty of typefaces and share their creativity.

Where I Have Studied Typography?

At the University of Reading’s Typography & Graphic Communication Department, I studied typography. The department has a long history of outstanding teaching and research, earning it a high level of esteem. I had the good fortune to study under some of the foremost authorities in the subject, and I had a hard and demanding education.

The curriculum for the department is created to give students a thorough understanding of typography. I gained knowledge on the origins of typography, its guiding principles, and its applications in design, publishing, advertising, and other industries. Through projects and practical study, I also had the chance to hone my typography talents.

I have a solid foundation in type thanks to my studies at the University of Reading’s Department of type & Graphic Communication. I’m now prepared to seek a career in this fascinating industry.

Here are some specific things I discovered when studying typography:

  • Typography’s development and its function in communication.
  • The rules of typography, including font usage, font matching, and typeface choice.
  • The application of typography in design, publishing, advertising, and other areas.
  • The newest typographic trends.

The knowledge and methods required to design and create typefaces.
I’m appreciative that the University of Reading’s Department of Typography & Graphic Communication offered me the chance to study typography. I now have the knowledge and abilities necessary to pursue a career in this fascinating industry thanks to my studies.

I hope this is useful.
